Using a Keyboard Overlay with Student Cogo
Last Updated 06/14/00
The Student Cogo software package has been designed to allow you to operate with a keyboard overlay
making the software function much like Party ChiefTM. This sheet documents the steps required to switch to and
from the overlay mode of operation.
Student Cogo normally assigns only a handfull of keys, including
,
,
,
,
, and the shifted
,
,
, and
used for DMS math. Party Chief assigns almost every key on the keyboard. To
switch to an overlay mode of operation you must assign the additional keys as used by Party Chief. To switch back
to the standard softkey method of operation you must remove all the key assignments, then assign those used by
Student Cogo. The following sections document how this is done.
Switching to Overlay Mode
- Execute the Party Chief key assignment program PKEY1. You may type this in or press
.
Note that LIBRARY is a right shift on a GX or a left shift on an SX.
Please be patient, as assigning all the keys can take up to 25 seconds.
- Make sure you are in User mode with "USER" displayed at the top of the screen.
If not, press
to activate User mode.
- Please note that once you select overlay mode, the key is assigned to the Intersection program so
you will not be able to use the softkey menus as before.
Switching to Softkey Mode
- If User mode is on, turn it off by pressing
